What is Eastman™ inhibitor OABH, and how is it used?

Eastman™ inhibitor OABH (Oxalyl bis[benzylidenehydrazide]) is a copper deactivator that provides excellent stability for polyolefins such as polypropylene and polyethylene that coat copper cable or wire. The additive is resistant to extraction and volatility at elevated temperatures. The material is effective at low concentrations (0.1%). This stabilizer functions by chelating/deactivating various copper salts that would otherwise cause the oxidation of polyolefins.
