What is Early Action, and how is it different from Early Decision at other schools?
Early Action is a non-binding application option for students who know that Binghamton University is among their top choices. It allows students the opportunity to apply early in the admission cycle–If your early action file is complete by December 1, we promise a decision to you by January 15. If your file is complete after December 1, we will review and send a decision on a rolling basis. Students then have until May 1 to submit a deposit. However, we encourage students who have been admitted through the Early Action option to send their deposits before that date so they will receive financial aid, housing and other important information sooner. Early decision is a binding application option used by other schools. That means when a school accepts you via early decision it expects you to accept the offer and discontinue your applications at other schools.
