What Is EAIs relationship with the Energy Efficiency Association?
From what I can see, they are closely related, but EEA has expanded to provide "certification" for several other training providers. All the courses appear to be similar and are most likely created by EEA or EAI.
An EEA certification isn’t recognized as legitimate by those of us in the Energy Audit field. I’m sure their training program is informative, but their certification is lacking in several ways:
- Not widely acknowledged or accepted.
- No educational requirements.
- No experience requirements.
- No continuing education requirements.
For residential and light commercial audits, RESNET, BPI, and AEE are the gold standard. For industrial, heavy/large commercial, and institutional audits, AEE provides the only applicable certification.
This topic is extremely confusing, so we’ve created a free report deciphering energy audit certifications. Go to www.industrialenergyaudit.com for more information.
All our materials are reviewed and approved by the Energy Efficiency Association. The association acts as our regulatory group to ensure that we meet the highest standards in professionalism and provide real-world efficiency techniques and practices. Upon completing your Energy Auditor Training Course you will receive your certification signed by EAI and the Energy Efficiency Association.
