What is E.C.E. (Epizootic Catarrhal Enteritis)?
Whilst there is a lot of information about E.C.E. available on the internet, most of it is highly alarmist and a lot of it is untrue. I do recommend you researching the disease to the best of your abilities if it is something that is of high concern to you. However, I also suggest that you read about cases of E.C.E. with an open mind: try not to diagnose your ferret without the assistance of a QUALIFIED vet. Below is a list of two good websites about E.C.E. as they get straight to the point, are informative and don’t mess around by telling you about fad cures for E.C.E. such as ‘special diets’ which will ultimately only disappoint. There are suggestions about what is easiest for your ferret to digest and gain nutritional benefit from, but by no means are such foods a CURE.
