What is E-Procurement and how can we get involved?
Dorset Police are involved in an initiative called Bluelight, a website listing the tender processes currently being undertaken by each Emergency Services Authority. The website will allow suppliers to view all current tenders and apply online to participate in any procurement initiatives of interest. The tender process will be managed electronically via this service, with tenders being exchanged electronically. Suppliers only require Internet access to use Bluelight. Otherwise the investment cost is nothing more than a desktop PC equipped with a modem – something generally already possessed by most businesses or individuals. The process will not incur any charges to the suppliers in terms of registration or subscription.
