What is E-Discovery and Electronically Stored Information (ESI)?
Federal Rules of Civil Procedure require that electronically stored information relevant to current and/or possible future litigation be preserved. For example, e-mails, word processor documents, etc. This process typically starts for individuals when they receive a directive in the form of a “Litigation Hold” memo from the Office of the General Counsel.
