What is DYO?
Design-Your-Own (DYO) program is a flexible program that is offered only in 10-week sessions. During the fall, winter and spring quarters, you can take any combination of Intensive English classes, UCR classes, all non-computer Extension classes, and two Extension classes held in a computer lab. During the summer quarter, you can take any combination of Intensive English classes, all non-computer Extension classes, and two Extension classes held in a computer lab. Students must satisfy minimum F-1 requirements. There is no limit for Intensive English classes. However, classes other than Intensive English classes are limited to a total maximum of 12 units. Also, any additional Extension class held in a computer lab (beyond the two allowed in the program) must be paid for separately. Participants must have advanced English proficiency, with a minimum TOEFL® score of 500 (paper)/173 (computer).
