What is DuPonts approach to safety consulting?
Our two main areas of development at this point are behavioural-based safety and process safety. There are twenty-two elements that fall under those two approaches. Our four practice areas – workplace safety, contractor safety, ergonomics and asset effectiveness – provide customised and ready-made solutions grounded in our world-class technology, owner-operator experience and record as one of the safest companies in the world. When dealing with a new customer, we first conduct an evaluation – a gap analysis – as well as review a company’s management system. We then rate the company on a matrix from one to five: Five means that their level of safety management is world-class, and one means that it is sub-standard. Based on this we recommend methods to improve their safety practise. We also assist in the implementation of these programmes through direct consulting, coaching and training.
