What is Dungeons & Dragons (D&D/DnD)?

Dungeons & Dragons was the first modern tabletop role-playing game created in 1974. The game was revised and republished three years later as Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and to get away from negative publicity was revised in 1989 as 2nd edition AD&D. In 2000 the game was completely rebuilt from the ground up and released as 3rd Edition D&D, but history repeated itself and v.3.5 was released three years later. D&D is often enjoyed because of the depth of character development needed and the flexiblity of options at all times, as in, if want to burn the entire city, you’re welcome to try. D&D is made for medieval/renaissance games.
