What is DRM and why do I need a license?
• DRM (Digital Rights Management) is a system to prevent piracy on intellectual content. Warner Bros. Screeners will be protected using Microsoft’s Windows Media DRM. The files downloaded to your computer will be encrypted, which means they will not be playable without a valid license to go with the file. Think of the downloaded file as a car and the license as the key to the car. You cannot drive the car without the key, just as you cannot play an encrypted video without a license. • For more information about Windows Media DRM, check out the Microsoft Windows Media DRM FAQ. • Warner Bros. has developed a simple and straightfoward process for you to obtain licenses for the videos you download. When attempting to play a file for the first time, you will be prompted to login using your WHVdirect username and password, as seen in the image below. You must be online for this to happen. Upon validation, you will be granted a license to play the file for as long as the terms of that license
