What is down? Why is down better than Feathers?
Feathers on geese provide minimal protection from the elements; they help in attracting a mate, aid in the flight of the goose, they do not trap or hold heat, and therefore do not provide added warmth. When a manufacture offers you a comforter filled with feathers or a combination of feathers, they have simply offered you a cheap filling with no real quality inside.
