What Is Distilled White Vinegar?
According to Heniz, their distilled white vinegar is made from sun-ripened grain and crystal clear water. It has a distinct flavor and taste, which is much more pungent that it’s companion, Apple Cider Vinegar. It’s only 5% acidic, so it makes a good product to use around the house for cleaning, as well as for dressings and marinades. Heinz uses corn, not grains, as their source for their white vinegar. Vinegar is essentially a sour wine. I remember when my brother tried to make hard cider (from apple cider) when we were teenagers, and it turned into vinegar. (My mom never did find out what turned her Tupperware bowl that ugly color!). Uses CLEANING: Years ago I purchased a small book called Clean & Green, which gives recipes for making your own cleaners at home, with common ingredients such as white vinegar. These cleaners often times work just as good as cleaners that are filled with chemicals, many of them toxic. I have the smell of the “Dip It” drip coffee maker cleaners, so now I
