What is Direct Fuel Injection?
[back] DIRECT INJECTION– is a new technology that will be released from the auto companies within the next several years. Rumor has it that one of the Japanese manufacturer’s will be producing a Direct Injection engine within the next three years. Direct Injection, like a diesel engine injects the fuel charge directly into the combustion chamber. There is much work to be done before it can be released, but most of the auto companies are working on some kind of prototypes right now. The advantage is cost and even closer fuel control for emissions purposes.
