What is Direct Deposit?
Direct Deposit is the electronic transfer of your Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefit payment to your bank, credit union, or other financial institution. Direct Deposit is a safe, quick and easy way to receive your UI benefits. It removes the risk of mail delays and lost or stolen checks. It also eliminates the time required for you to cash or deposit your check. When you enroll in the service, you are authorizing the Idaho Department of Labor to credit your bank account each time you file for and are entitled to receive benefits.
Direct Deposit is the electronic transfer of your weekly Unemployment Insurance (UI) payment into your checking or savings account at your bank, credit union or savings and loan through a system called the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network. Your financial institution must be a member of the ACH network in order for you to receive UI payments by Direct Deposit.
