What is digital, offset and screen printing?
Digital printing is plateless ink printing directly on paper. This process is similar to the printing process of your home printer. While digital printing is cheaper than offset printing, it is much slower and at a lower quality. Offset printing or offset lithography is a printing process where your design is etched into a thin metal plate. This plate is then mounted on an offset press. Ink will be rolled onto the plate and transferred to the paper. Offset printing is the leading printing process for high-quality projects. Screen printing includes creating a screen with very small holes from your design that will be placed on top of the material you want to print on. Ink will be squeegee through the screen onto the material. Screen printing is great for printing on materials that wouldn’t fit on a flatbed press, such as CD/DVD and T-shirt printing.
