It is a preparatory sequence in Digital Design that connects to the Digital Media IT Standards, the ISTE Standards for Students, and Washington State Essential Leanings specific to Art, Communications, Writing, and Reading. Students will become the critical thinkers and problem-solvers through a sequenced project-based curriculum and teacher-led facilitation. There will be a major connection to the real world through service learning. Students will use various software applications to create and communicate including Dreamweaver MX, Fireworks MX, and Flash MX during the first year of Digital Design. Digital Design 1 is the first 180-hour preparatory course of a 360-hour sequence designed to introduce students to project-based web-authoring curriculum using specific skills and tools necessary for today’s world. Employability, thinking skills, SCANS skills and leadership will be incorporated into the scope and sequence of this preparatory class in order to accommodate future preparatory
