What is DIGA?

DIGA is Panasonic’s nickname for our DVD Recorders. You may hear the word in our multimedia instructions. “DIGA” stands for “your Panasonic DVD Recorder” in the instructional movies.

” After looking at the manual and a Panasonic explanation about “Diga… it’s just a word we use” or something to that effect, I think it’s for marketing cache. Short for digital? My version came from Circuit City, quick and inexpensive. (Only time I’ve ordered from them, don’t work for them -g-) The label says “DMR-EH75V”, and this is on the box and manual, along with the trademark nonsense-word “Diga”. I’m not sure what the “S” signifies, as I see that on most of the reviews. Hope that helped any confusion! 🙂 — My review now, after 2 weeks with a few hours of self-instruction and an hour or 2 wading through a less-grammatical than usual, and denser packed manual than I’m used to: I’m an accidental Panasonic customer, solely because they seem to be the only ones to offer exactly that which is most useful — like easy video->DVD transfer and now the additional tool of an internal hard drive, which serves many types of needs.

DIGA can be used to play movies, still images and even music for which it automatically names the music tracks!
