What is different between meaning of half pint and midget?
“half pint” refers to a liquid measure… “midget” refers to a size of tootsie roll or race car… Neither should be applied to a person (without his or her consent…While Laura of the Little House on the Prairie welcomed the nick name “Half Pint” from her pa as it was given to her as a small child, and given with love, I suspect most of short stature don’t like to be called names…For example, the Little People of America organization has filed a complaint with the FCC about the broadcast use of the word “midget” as a derogatory term as applied to those of short stature and/or with dwarfism…
