What is different about the Parker Process Method?
Most of the methods to collect requirements from customers are meant to get output information so that the Information Technology group can automate the outputs. They then go on a search to collect inputs. The programmers then make assumptions while sitting at their desks doing programming about the process used to arrive at the outputs. Sometimes they ask and sometimes they dont. The Parker Method insures that the entire customer process is examined. Inputs and processes are documented at the very beginning and outputs are verified before they are accepted as needed. In the process of discovering and examining the process, opportunities and suggestions on improvements to the process are gathered. These often (always) become measurable cost reductions to the process under examination. The process is quick, complete and done with the buy in of the entire customer staff.
