What is different about the large oil company plan?
Some large oil companies, in an attempt to seize the $1 tax credit, have simply added vegetable oil to their refinery hydrotreater. The result is a double hydrogen bond (rather than single bond achieved through transesterification) that is more likely to leave unburned hydrocarbons, increasing pollution and gumming engines.
