What is different about the curriculum at a choice school?
At the inception of Horace Mann many various innovative practices were implemented. -There are no textbooks -Curriculum is driven at the needs of the school -There is thematic teaching -All teachers have training in collaborating -Best practices were built into Horace Mann -Multiage was included, which is not 43% of all classrooms in the district -no letter grades, they look for mastery -the calendar was different With a new choice school, a process will be undertaken involving staff and parents to define the structure and perhaps a special focus for the school.
