What is different about taking a course online compared to a traditional on campus class?
Generally, the online courses are set up in weekly modules with the assignment from each module due by the end of the week. It will help you to have a positive experience if you do not let yourself get behind. Reading assignments are still based on your textbook. Most quizzes and other written submissions are done online. Some of the quizzes (multiple choice or true/false) are automatically corrected, which means you will get your results immediately after they are submitted. The results will also go to your instructor. Other exercises which involve more text such as essays or short answer questions are done with an interactive form in which you may type the text directly or copy and paste the text from another word processing program. These are called “interactive” forms because there is an exchange back and forth between the student and the instructor.
