What is different about SandSpring Ranch Cattle?
The mass market for cattle is managed to achieve the largest size possible. The bigger the better has been the paradigm for the cattle industry for a very long time. This means that most of the animals tend to be much older by the time they get to the marketplace. That is clearly not our goal. We believe that age alone changes the tenderness and quality of the experience in a negative way. At SandSpring Ranch our cattle is never older than sixteen months when it is dry aged and packaged for sale. Young beef, as you will experience by the taste, is clearly superior. Smaller, more condensed in taste, texture and tenderness this is simple unachievable in large old mixed breed cattle. In biblical terms, this is the Fatted Calf.
