What is difference in the Hooked on Phonics packages Master Reader & Master Reader Delux ?
In my survey, I found no difference in the “Contents” portions of listing for the “Master Reader” and “Master Reader Deluxe” versions. In what may explain the difference, I noticed that on a google search, the “Master Reader” first linked to Amazon.com, while the “Deluxe” search linked to a Canadian Amazon website. Perhaps the Deluxe version is one marketed toward Canada, or other Commonwealth nations? Can’t be sure – I saw Deluxe on US websites, too. They all seem to come with 4 books, 4 CD’s, and all the trimmings (poster, parent’s guide, stickers, etc.) One website for a “Deluxe” actually showed a picture of the box, which only contained the words “Master Reader”, and not the word “Deluxe”. So I feel pretty certain that these are close to the same thing. By the way – as a former teacher for Sylvan Learning Center, I give a thumbs-up to phonics based reading methods!
