What is difference between Siddha and Ayurveda systems?
Both Siddha and Ayurveda are ancient systems of medicine that are more or less analogous to each other. The Siddha system had its origin in the Southern parts of India (Dravidian culture) Ayurveda had its origin form the Northern parts of India (Aryan culture). Ayurveda is based on Vedanta Philosophy and Siddha is based on Saiva Siddhantha Philosophy. Both systems have extensive literary references that date back to several centuries. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has recorgnised the unique states of these systems and established the Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha (CCRAS) Three decades ago. This body is engaged in the promotion of the two systems through scientificstudies in Ayurveda and Siddha.
