What is difference between Logarithmic and Linear scale?
A bit of Maths, and, I am trying to be simple. If X = 10^y, where y is the logarithm of X to the base 10. Multiplication and Division of numbers is addition and subtraction of the powers. Before the days of computers and calculators with common man, logarithmic tables were being used to simplify multiplication and division. Logarithmic scale is one in which the logarithms are plotted as against the linear scale where the values are plotted. That means in log scale, the distance 1-10 will be the same as 10-100, and, will be the same as 100-1000, and, so on. My preference is to use linear scale, though.
