What is difference between foil stamping and embossing?
Foil stamping is the process of applying a flat, non-tarnish able metallic effect to stock (paper, plastic, paper board, etc.), and requires a metal die. Foil stamping is also called Flat Stamping, Hot Stamping, Gold Stamping, Blocking or Leafing. Stamping comes in other styles such as leather, wood grain and holograms making the creative possibilities endless. Embossing is a raised or indented image on stock, and requires an etched metal die and a matching counter die. Embossing works by pressing the image onto the paper stock between a heated die and a counter die.
