What is difference between Fine Silver and Sterling Silver?

Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver and does not tarnish like sterling, which is 92.5% pure silver, the remaining metal being copper (hence why sterling tarnishes so readily). Fine silver still requires polishing, as it will dull slightly with wearing due to the oils in our skin and the environment, but will retain the bright, shiny look, unless it has been patinated….which you will see when new anyway.
