Ans. This is a unique question. Ethanol is basically blended with Petrol. The percentages vary in different countries. In India Government is planing for 5% blending of Ethanol with petrol. In Brazil the blending percentage is up to 20% and at some points 30% also. Ethanol may not be 100% replacement of petrol. On the contrary, Biodiesel BD- 100, is total replacement of diesel. One can use 100% Biodiesel replacing diesel which is not possible in the case of Ethanol & Petrol.
