What is difference between deionised and distilled water?

0

The main difference is the way they are prepared. Deionized (deionised) water is passed through a column which bind ions in the water, replacing them with protons and hydroxide ions. It can’t remove uncharged molecules from the source water. Distilled water is literally boiled and the vapors condensed back into liquid water. Some volatile contaminants in the water source can end up in the distilled water. So each has the potential to remain contaminated, but with different kinds of things.
