What is DHA and why is it important for my child?
DHA and EPA are found in Omega-3 essential fatty acids. DHA and EPA are “essential” because they are needed throughout the human life cycle, cannot be manufactured in the human body, and therefore they must be obtained through our diet on a daily basis for optimal health and wellness. Both children and adults need DHA and EPA but DHA is much more important for children because of its role in the development of young minds. Also, our bodies can convert DHA to EPA very easily when needed, but our bodies are not as efficient in converting EPA to DHA. So that is why we use a 2-1 ratio of DHA to EPA in our Go Fish Omega 3 Fish Oil formulas.
