Quite interesting! It is one of the oldest places where early Europeans settled, dating back to about 45,000 years ago. Like any place to detect, you really don’t know what you are going to find until you dig it up. I think something that I would point out is that detecting here in this country is quite new. During the era of Communism (1948-89), metal detectors were almost unknown, and private ownership of one was forbidden by law. But it has been growing bit by bit, and today has a small and dedicated following. Most detectorists in the Czech Republic know each other in some small way! The Czech Republic is also hammered country! One detectorist I know found more than one hundred last season.
