What is design-build? Whats the implication?
“Design-build” is when we know generally what we want done or the results we want to achieve, but not specifically how we want to go about getting it. We rely on the contractor to determine exactly what is needed to obtain our desired results, design/purchase what is necessary to get there, and then install/construct the work. The implication is that it requires much more oversight by the Facilities Services Project Management, and depending on the dollar amount (if over $75K it will go through a DOJ review), a significantly longer review process.
