What is Death and Disability coverage?
Death and Disability coverage is available as an optional coverage on Personal Auto polices that carry Bodily Injury liability coverage. Three coverages are available: Death Benefit ($5,000 or $10,000), Specific Injury Benefits (provides a benefit for dismemberment, loss of sight, fractures and dislocation, in a benefits schedule), and Total Disability Income Benefit (weekly disability payment when the named person’s disability prevents performance of every occupational duty; disability must be caused by an auto accident).
