What is damp heat testing?
Damp heat testing is reliability standard performed on fiber optics and optoelectronic devices similar to MSL testing done on semiconductor and IC devices. Test conditions depend on the operating environment that the device is rated to. In addition, qualification test conditions depend on the final device packaging. The operating environment can be defined as central office, remote terminal, or uncontrolled. The final device packaging can be hermetic or non-hermetic.
