What is “Damage to Rental Furniture beyond fair wear and tear”?
A. Most hard/soft rental furniture is not brand new, so assignees should make a note of any marks etc. on accepting the furniture (the service provider will always make such notes on copies of the inventory so that there is a record). On collection, fair wear and tear is accepted, but any dirt/marks/stains that cannot be cleaned (typically from food/drink/grease/pen/biro/crayons/pets etc on upholstery and any stains on mattresses) or scratches/marks on hard furniture that were not there on delivery, or any damage that is beyond repair to an acceptable standard so that the item can be rented out again to another client) will be charged for.
