What is cyber-crime and cyber-theft?
Cyber-crime is the use of computers and communication systems to commit a criminal act which involves the use of information in electronic format. The term cyber-crime refers to acts of cyber-theft, cyber-manipulation, cyber-extortion or cyber-terror. Cyber-theft is the use of computers and communication systems to steal information in electronic format. Cyber-theft usually involves the extraction of a copy of the electronic information. By taking only a copy of the protected information the cyber-thief often remains undetected, the crime remains unreported and the criminal is never apprehended.
