What is currently being done to help victims of Manganism?
Currently many lawsuits are being filed against companies who knowingly exposed their employees to manganese. Despite the overwhelming proof that exposure to welding rod fumes leads to Manganism, companies continue to deny the disease exists and still continue to dangerously expose their employees to the poisonous fumes. A welder in Illinois was recently awarded $1 million in a settlement after he developed Manganism from years of exposure to the toxic fumes in welding rods.
