What is Cultural Canvas Thailand?
Cultural Canvas Thailand is a non-profit, non-government organization. Our mission is to provide developing organizations in the city of Chiang Mai with volunteer support and funding by means of a volunteer placement program. We aim to promote equality, community interaction, and social change through volunteer services and artistic outreach in conjunction with local organizations. Through volunteer placement we intend to ease the load of the many organizations that are under-resourced and under-funded, while giving our volunteers an invaluable cultural and learning experience. CCT and our partner organizations focus on education and assistance in the following areas: HIV/AIDS, refugees, impoverished ethnic minorities, and sex workers. In addition, our artistic outreach programs utilize self-expression as a means of empowerment and education in our focus areas.
