What is CSP of Franklin / Fulton County?
It is a coalition of mental health consumers, family members, mental health professionals, and other community members who are working together to help adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders such as substance abuse live successfully in the community. It is part of a statewide coalition that began in 1984. The local CSP began in May 2000 and is part of the Central Region, which includes several nearby counties. Through the local CSP initiative, small seed grants to CSP, agencies, and advocacy groups have generated innovative training, anti-stigma campaigns, CSP celebrations and the production of a wide variety of literature. Through CSP, consumers have been empowered and have risen to leadership roles.
