What Is Cryobiology?
Cryobiology refers to the study that focuses on the analysis of the effects on biological fluids, cells and tissues at the freezing as well as sub-freezing temperature. The term is coined from the Greek word ‘kyros’ meaning icy cold. Its application is crucially significant in the study of genetic research, infertility treatment, organ transplantation etc. Cryobiology has been developed enormous success in the filed of genetics by means of providing inexpensive ways to freeze and store embryos for future implantation. It has achieved a great success in the field of embryology as well, especially in the area of human infertility. The use of frozen sperm, egg as well as embryo makes the development milestone to reach to its optimum level. It also helps the researchers and doctors to store the samples for future fertilization. In 1984, the first baby was born from the frozen embryo. In 1997, the first baby was born from frozen egg. Current research is focusing on more advanced technique t
