What is Cross Dock?
AAFES cross dock takes individual store orders and combines them into purchase orders that are shipped to AAFES warehouses. The preferred process, called XD2, changes the PO format adding SDQs (destination quantity), which then change the ASN (advanced ship notice) and the UCC128 labels. Cross dock orders are generated mechanically; there are no back orders, no late shipments, and no substitutions. There are no minimum order quantities for participating facilities. Suppliers with a 90% or better fill rate and an ASN accuracy rate of 99.
