What is critique writing about?
• Critique writing is a critical assessment of any of the listed above. If we are talking about art, you can be asked to evaluate a painting or an artist. The same is with music, literature, etc. • The process of writing a critique begins with getting acquainted with the piece you are to evaluate. If it is a book, you have to read it. If it is a musical – you need to watch it. • Additional steps in critique writing are already published critical materials. There is at least a review on every book, a notice on a theater play. Study some of the already published critiques and make notes before you actually proceed to writing a critique. These will be references, acknowledged points of view you will lean on.
