What is CPU overclocking and how long can i do it for?

CPU overclocking is the “art” of raising the operating frequency of your CPU. For example, my Q6600 has a stock speed of 2.4GHz, but it runs at 3.6GHz just fine. You can do it for as long as you want as long as your system is stable and your temperatures don’t get too high. It’ll shorten the life of the CPU, but it’s not really major. Like instead of my Q6600 lasting 10 years, maybe it’ll only last 7 or 8, but i’m not going to use it that long anyway, so it doesn’t really matter.
