What is cost sharing and is it required?
While encouraged and warmly-received, cost-sharing is not required to participate in TCLP which has awarded teachers to schools who have not been able to provide cost-sharing. The TCLP selection panel views schools’ in-kind contributions and cost-sharing proposals interchangeably. Cost sharing demonstrates school partners’ own contributions to developing their critical foreign language programs. Each teacher in TCLP represents a significant financial investment, and schools’ cost-sharing demonstrates their abilities to defray these expenses or contribute to professional development or support needs outside of the program’s scope.
