2. Steering wheel could use restoration to match the quality of the rest of the car. Has one chip out of the covering material and one area where the covering over the metal substructure of the steering wheel has been burned by the outline of the cigarette lighter. What is the rubber like covering of the wheel? Will standard PT7 Epoxy work to fill the damaged area? Any thing particular/different than the standard guidelines for restoring steering wheels applicable to the Franklin 31 steering wheel? (Looking at the “kit” from Eastwood which comes with an instruction booklet) Type of paint that wheel should be finished in? Number of coats recommended? 3. Brake lines are copper on the car. Was reading in Classic Car Restorer’s Handbook by Jim Richardson that for safety reasons copper should NEVER be used, only steel. Is this valid, meaning that I should replace all of the brake lines? That’s it. Thanks in advance. Best Regards, Jack ANSWER: 1931 RPM, STEERING WHEEL AND COPPER BRAKE LINES
