What is Core aeration and why is it important?
Core aeration is the extraction of thousands of cores of soil about 2″ deep and 1″ in diameter left on the lawn to decompose, these cores breakdown as a top dressing, creating microbial activity helping break down the thatch layer naturally. This process also loosens compacted soil, allowing existing grass roots to venture deeper into the soil. A deep root system is very important to a healthy, lush lawn.
