Contract Carrier Authority provides for-hire truck transportation (passengers or cargo) to specific individual shippers, based on contracts. Motor carriers who wish to apply for Contract Carrier Operating Authority must file the following applications with the FMCSA: OP-1 Application, MCS-150 and/or MCS-150B. After the MC Number has been assigned, completion of the application process also involves: Proof of Insurance and Process Agent Coverage — $750,000 Liability and a BOC-3 Form, Designation of Process Agents. Application Processing Fee — $300.00 (non-refundable). Application Processing Time — Approximately 4-6 weeks.
