What is constructive explosion protection?
You could theoretically construct your plant to be so high in enclosure strength that, even with a combustible dust explosion, your plant and equipment could withstand the explosion. This option is very costly and not typically feasible for an industrial facility. You can also construct your plant to withstand a certain level of pressure surge. Should there be a combustible dust explosion, the vessel may show some deformation, but it would not rupture, and it would save lives and equipment. This is constructive explosion protection.
