Consolidation begins the day after Room Change Day. Sometimes students find themselves looking for a new roommate because their roommate was a no-show or moved out during Room Change Day. If this happens to you, you will be given a list of other students without roommates and an opportunity to meet with them. You can choose to move to a new room, have someone move into your room, or declare a private room, if space is available. To declare a private room, you must sign a private room agreement. The rent for a private room is $1,675 per semester and may be paid at the Business Office. Be sure to check 325-INFO (325-4636) to find out if you have been billed for a private room. After seven days, students who have not found a roommate or declared a private room will be consolidated based upon priority numbers, with the highest priority belonging to the student with the lowest number.

A Federal Consolidation loan is a repayment option for student loan borrowers. It is designed to make education loan repayment easier by combining existing eligible federal education loans into one new loan with a fixed interest rate and a lower monthly payment. Consolidation is a bit of a misnomer because a single loan can be “consolidated” to take advantage of better loan terms.

Consolidation is the process of packaging multiple items into one Shipment. Bongo will create a commercial invoice that will list all of your items in the box along with their values. The package is then sealed and sent to it’s final destination. Consolidation helps Bongo customers save a tremendous amount of money on shipping as the cost per pound decreases as the weight of a shipment increases.

Students who live in the halls without a roommate may be subject to consolidation. Often students are living without a roommate because their roommate moved out or they may not have been assigned a roommate in the beginning. To be fair to those students who pay for a single room, we may consolidate those students who are not. Students living without a roommate will be required to do one of the following: • pay for a single room if space is available • find their own roommate from among friends or the list of people needing roommates • move rooms at the discretion of the housing staff • be assigned a roommate (who is also living alone) Students are asked to move based on seniority by class. If students are unwilling to cooperate, they will be billed for a single room and /or face discipline action.
